Dealing with Christmas and Cancer

During the holidays, our 1800 431 312 Cancer Hub phone line will be temporarily closed from 3pm on Wednesday 24 December, 2025. All support services will resume 9am on Friday 2 January (all times AEDT).

During the festive buzz of Christmas and the holiday season, we acknowledge that for many families affected by cancer, it can be a time of complexity and mixed emotions.

Whatever your situation, one of the most important things to remember is that you’re not alone in navigating this journey, and help is available.

What support is available?

While our regular Cancer Hub services will be on hold, we understand that cancer doesn’t take a holiday. That’s why our online community for young people (12-25), Canteen Connect will be available 24/7, allowing young people to connect with others in similar situations. Alternatively, you can speak to someone anonymously. Our Canteen Connect counsellors will be available most days – find out when they’re online.
